Meagen I don’t think it’s any kind of secret that I’m a huge John Mayer fan. It drives many of the people in my life insane. I’ve been there through the good and the bad, something like 9 times one summer. I’m a junkie, a proud one. Should be no surprise here then that when The Search for Everything: Wave One was released today I had to have it. These Wave One quotes are from the four songs that were just released today. I downloaded them at 12:01 which was well past my bedtime…I’ll take a sleepy Friday for new Mayer songs ANYTIME. I love John Mayer quotes and I will randomly burst out into these songs as well as others. Hope you enjoy them as well!

So the idea with The Search for Everything is that songs will be released in fours each month until the album has been revealed. There was apparently just too much John Mayer-y goodness to be dumped on us all at once. I rather like this approach because by the time I’ve play the life out of these four I’ll have some new songs to listen too. I’ll have a whole new batch of John Mayer quotes when Wave Two – infinity are released! We’ll start sensibly with Wave One quotes though, no need to make the ADD group sweat.
Wave One Songs:
I don’t have a favorite. I’d never choose and make the others feel hurt and sad 🙂 I will say that this is the first John Mayer album in a while that I could just let play without skipping around. I know there are only four of them, ha. ha. ha. Yes, there’s not a lot of hopping to do at this point. The real picture here is that I can just listen to them without changing the order or mixing other things in, they flow well together and the sound. The sound is to die for. If you haven’t downloaded yet and you are even a kind of, sort of, maybe type fan…get over there and do it! These Wave One Quotes are just a few of my favorite lyrics or the ones that just really jumped out at me. I’m sure I’ll have more as the day goes on…(read: as I listen to these on repeat all day long).

The first time I heard this lyric I was in love. It’s just timed so perfectly in the song and the feeling is so universal. We’ve all had that moment where something in our lives has been just like this.

We all see what he’s doing here. I mean okay we get it he’s at a point in his life where he’s not ready to say “I’m done” with anything. But love is tough, we are always changing and it’s such a great lyric for the restless ones out there. I’m not always so physically restless but my mind never stops. This speaks to me and so many other people because as a “millennial” generation we’re pretty notorious for not wanting to sit down and shut up and settle in.

Aren’t we all?!? Ugh I’m dying a little here people. We are all always just a minute from being dragged back into whatever we just walked away from. Stay STRONG!

This grabbed me and wouldn’t let me go. It’s probably why I’ve listened to this song 47 times today. “It all ends unfortunately.” is another great line in this song and it’s just so poignant. Our fragility, the tiny webs we weave. I think the idea that we will live on forever is such an intoxicating idea. We want to think that no matter what we will be living on long after we are gone. How can we look at someone who is so perfectly happy and stay “no, stop.” Well we don’t, obviously. We keep our seat and we live with that love forever. Ouch, hurts so GOOD!
