I love Winter. Of course I enjoy the beauty of Spring and the Warm summer nights, Fall foliage in the Northeast is phenomenal…yeah yeah yeah. I LOVE Winter. Snow coated tree branches, the way everything looks so white and clean if only for a moment. I can’t get over it. The only thing I don’t like about Winter is the way my skin reacts. You’d think my love for this gorgeous season would radiate through and keep my skin looking amazeballs…it doesn’t. My newest Winter skin care addiction is the Tarte Frxxxtion Stick. It’s a scrub, cleanser, and facemask all in one easy to use stick!
Winter skin care doesn’t have to be complicated. The Tarte Frxxxtion Stick can cleanse, exfoliate, and moisturize in one easy step!
This process takes just two products. They’re simple but mighty. You’ll need the Tarte Frxxxtion 3 – in – 1 Skincare Stick and Sephora Instant Moisturizer Cream.
I haven’t always been so skin loving. This is the first time in years that I’ve actually made an effort to take not just winter skin care seriously, but skin care in general. I recently purchased some fun new stuff from Sephora so I grabbed the moisturizing sample pack as my freebie. I’m working my way through these samples to see what I really enjoy and what works best for my skin. I also grabbed the Tarte Frxxxtion Stick.
According to the Tarte website the Frxxxtion Stick is infused with “diatomaceous earth microexfoliants: fossilized sea algae that absorb surface oil and toxins while acting as a gentle exfoliant.” It truly is the oddest experience I’ve had with a cleanser or mask. I love doing a mask but I sort of hate ruining the fresh feeling afterwards with a cleanser. The fact that I can apply the Tarte Frxxxtion Stick as a mask, let it sit, and then when I rub it in the exfoliation cleans out my pores and leaves a smooth, fresh, feel behind.
After the Tarte Frxxxtion Stick I used the Sephora Instant Moisturizer sample. I’ll admit that this second step is also a new habit. I know, I know, after cleansing and exfoliating I should moisturize but I don’t always do that…I’m not usually a fan of the heavy feeling moisturizers on my face. The Sephora Instant Moisturizer was heavy and it took quite awhile for my skin to absorb it all. Luckily I had plenty of time and just let it sit and do its thing. Smells amazing though, just like the Tarte Frxxxtion Stick. Like all of the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea products, the Frxxxtion Stick has a great smell and it sort of lingers which I really enjoy.
Action packed and triple the benefits, Tarte Frxxxtion Stick is my new Winter skin care bestie!
My Winter skin care routine is a lot easier with the Tarte Frxxxtion Stick. I apply as directed. Damp skin, use the stick to make small circular motions over skin, let sit for 10-15 minutes, and then rinse off with warm water (again working in circular motions for exfoliation). The exfoliation is way better than I expected. The grit is super fine and it makes my skin feel great. Don’t get too over zealous or try to rub it in without making it damp or you’ll feel the wrath of that super-fine exfoliate! I love the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea H2O Boost moisturizer as well. If you have that I’d highly recommend the combo.
You might have seen some of my previous attempts at Winter skin care. I have some DIY skin care options up on the site. The Chocolate Coffee Coconut Oil Face Mask is one of my favorites. It smells great and I use that for girls nights and spa days all the time. Another great one to check out for some DIY Winter skin care love is the Blackhead Peel Off Mask. Works wonders for stubborn blackheads. I use this after cleansing on occasion to pull out anything that gets left behind.
